An Election

My Dear Friends Around Our World…

As most of you know, whether you live in that country or not, 2008 is an Election Year in the United States. Most people know this, no matter where they live, because the election of a U.S. president impacts the entire world.

Yet there is another election going on in 2008, and it, too, affects the entire world. And this election will not only be held in November, but also in October and in September and in December and in August. It will be held in July and in June and in all the weeks of all of the months of this year. It will be held on all the days of all those weeks, and in all the hours of all those days.

The fact is, this election is going on every minute. It is occurring right now.

The Election in Your Heart

Right now you are going to the polling place and you are casting your vote. The ballot box is in your heart, where you are choosing, right now, which human you want to be. Do you choose to be the best version of yourself that you could ever imagine, or do you choose to be some lesser version of that?

This is the most important election this planet will ever hold.

The decision that the electorate is now making will determine the future of humankind.

Please, now, allow me to explain…

Every second of every minute of every hour of every day you are making a decision. Conversations with God tells us that “every act is an act of self-definition.” This is a profound statement, and its importance may have escaped many readers of the CwG material. It may be, in fact, one of the most powerful and important statements in the entire 3,000+ pages of the CwG cosmology. So let us review it again:

EVERY ACT IS AN ACT OF SELF-DEFINITION.

Now, let’s talk about what this means.

The statement means that everything we think (thinking is an act), say, or do creates the next definition of Who We Are. We are constantly in the act of defining ourselves. Indeed, this is the central purpose of Life. We are not our bodies. We are spiritual beings with a body. We have come to our bodies, using them as tools with which to build and create the next out-picturing of Who We Really Are—and of Who We Now Choose To Be.

This is true for us individually, and it is true for us collectively as the species called Humanity.

Our individual action has enormous impact on our collective experience, and our collective action has enormous impact on our individual experience. The effect is circular. In every moment, we are holding an election. Who will win? Our Highest Self? Our Lowest Self? Someone In Between?

Help Along the Way

This is a momentous decision. Undoubtedly, the most important one we will ever make. And we have to make it over and over again, every moment of our lives. Fortunately, we do not have to make it alone. We are not without help, we are not without guidance, and we are not without supporting companionship along the way.

As in most political elections, where we can join political parties to find the strength that comes in numbers, in this election regarding how we wish to be human we can also join with others who think as we do, who desire to achieve the same ends, who seek the same outcomes.

Fortunately, we can join Humanity’s Team.

And just as members of political parties work together to increase their numbers, and thus, their effectiveness, so, too, can members of Humanity's Team work together to enlarge their partnership to include human beings in all nations of the world—increasing their effectiveness in creating a new way to be human.

That’s what we are doing, of course. We are creating a new way to live together, to co-exist on this planet, and to experience ourselves.

Humanity's Team seeks to assist individuals across the globe in realizing a central truth of all of life: WE ARE ALL ONE.

We know that once this truth is understood and embraced and employed as a tool in the creation of our day-to-day life, everything in the way we experience that life will change. It will change for the better, and it will change forever.

An Invitation from God to You

Conversations with God says that God is talking to us all the time. If that is true (and it is), then the very words you are reading now could be calling out to you from the Heart Of The Divine. You are hearing, right now, an Invitation from Life Itself.

If you believe, as we do, that there really is a ‘new way to be human’; that, in this business of co-existence, we can do better; that our children and our children’s children deserve to live in joy and peace and harmony and safety, in a world free of abject poverty and enduring anguish and endless suffering…if you believe, as we do, that a species that put a man on the moon can create a heaven on earth…if you believe, as we do, that life was meant to be happy, and was never intended to be an experience of constant struggle and ongoing conflict…if you believe, as we do, that there is a way for us to honor our natural impulse toward the Divine without making others wrong for the way in which they are doing it...then you are already a member of Humanity's Team.

All that remains now is for you to clasp hands with the rest of us, so that we can make our votes count as we elect a New Future for all the world.
