This one is for the Vets...no matter what you believe.

As Memorial Day approaches here in the U.S.A., I am re-minded of my Dad...

He was a decorated veteran who spent his last years going around to the local schools with artifacts and stories from WWII (the war to end all wars) and through those stories let the youngsters know that war doesn't work.
Yet, he served as the commander of an American Legion post in NJ (my mom would cook for all the aging vets - some whose wives had transitioned back to spirit...they were lonely often and my mom would invite them to the house for dinner or just to stop by and chat...sit a spell. Then she'd cook for their monthly get-together...dwindling steadily in attendees as more each month transitioned.)
Please accept this in the spirit of gratitude, no matter what your views or your creation of this moment. Thanks.
And thanks Dad. You expressed an experience of God and of Life I didn't fully understand until you moved on...an everyday guy who did extraordinary things.
Peace. We are the everyday folks being/doing extraordinary things.
