Steve Farrell People new to Humanity's Team often ask about the nature of the problem our movement addresses and what we do to address it: "Why was the movement created in the first place?" they ask, and: "How does Humanity's Team heal the problem?"

Let's take a moment to consider these questions because they are important. This all has to do with illusion...the illusion that we are separate from God and each other, the illusion that duality exists, and the illusion that we are born into the world with "lack" and "limitation".

Let's start with the first illusion that we are all separate. Our bodies are separate so humanity, God and life must be separate. This belief is held despite observations made by ancient and contemporary spiritual and religious leaders, scientists and philosophers that: "We are all One".

I'll share two quotes addressing this illusion but there are many.

Albert Einstein shares: "A human being is part of a whole, called by us 'universe', a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest...a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty."

Jesus shared: "For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bound or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit for the body is not one member, but many. If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not the body; is it therefore not of the body? And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?" 1 COR. 12-16.

As a side note, when you put together the quotes we've identified from contemporary and ancient leaders, the evidence: "We are all One" is overwhelming. We will be putting together a video shortly so people can see for themselves. It is quite moving to see all the material together in one place.

The next illusion is that duality exists, that our essence has "good" and "bad" parts and the "bad" parts have to do with a "dark" force oppositional to God in the universe.

The first illusion, the illusion of separation, puts us on a slippery slope because if we are separate from God and a "bad" energy exists in the universe, this "bad" Source energy can be found in parts of the universe, including in our own being.

On the other hand, if: We are all One, and the One essence is God, then there is nowhere for oppositional or "bad" Source energy to hide. If the body of God is goodness, then it follows that all the parts of God, all the "cells", all of humanity and all people, are also good.

The concept that: We are all One is central to seeing how we heal illusions or false beliefs.

Let's consider next the illusion that we "lack" the basic essentials of life and must forge, scrap and scrape together these essential things and the companion illusion that we are "limited" in most ways. As this illusion goes, we are limited to physical means of manifesting things. We are also limited to living one life.

In these illusions there is no place for the creative tools of thought, word and deed to manifest responses to lack and limitation, for example real abundance and real power in our lives. Despite all the forms of evidence to the contrary, our direct experiences, scientific data, historical evidence, etc., a big "nope" to our powerful creative abilities.

An elementary review of how things work whereby our thoughts create our words, our words create our actions, and our actions create our life lived somehow is lost. The whole metaphysical process using the tools of creation: thought, word and deed to co-create with God/Universe is lost or ignored.

Here is where Humanity's Team comes in.

We invite individuals and the collective to move beyond beliefs in separation, duality, lack and limitation to beliefs in Wholeness/Oneness, Love as our essential nature, Fullness/living in abundance, and creative/powerful living unbounded by limitation of any kind.

Someone new to these concepts will want to read and carefully consider all of the points of view but I believe the illusions we are discussing here are pretty "thin". If we are thoughtful and considerate when we look at this and really consider the wisdom shared by leaders from the fields of science, philosophy, religion, and spirituality not to mention our own experience, we are led to a place of reason. Reason is not inside of the illusion; it resides outside and is in "plain view".

When we come to a place where we see: We are all One, our essence is love, and in our natural state we are abundant and creative/powerful, everything is changed. Our life is transformed. We become "awake", conscious and connected with God/Universe, our Source.

We like to say in the movement: "when we heal the root system on the tree, we heal the whole tree". The root system is our concept of Self. When we see who we really are, not our body, but rather all parts of God, universe, humanity and life, our behaviors and actions naturally shift to nurture our larger Self. We cannot possibly ignore humanitarian and ecological issues because there is no "other" in the room, on the planet or in the Universe. There is only One of us, not speaking here in metaphor but as a precise description of reality. If we are healthy, we see ourselves as a "cell" in a larger body of God/Universe. This is our new Self.

This is why we narrowly focus. It all has to do with our "identification". Who we identify ourselves to be has deep implications.

When we see we are truly One, that our essence is Love/Light and connected with the Source of all Love/Light, then we create Love/Light for all in the world to see. When we do this together and in unison it can be blinding in a powerful, effective and fun way, and it transforms all those we are in contact with and ultimately the whole world.

This is what we are doing in this lifetime, in our generation, so children inherit a new world, a joyful, compassionate and sustainable world.

Chip Cooper, the movement's information technology and Web manager, loves encouraging an appreciation of humanity's commonalities by bridging cultural, language and geographic barriers through the use of collaborative internet applications. Jobs that might leverage this passion include a cruise coordinator, a tour group leader and an English as a Second Language instructor.

He can also teach others how to make the most of their digital cameras (http://chipixphoto.com) and help "technophobes" learn how to overcome their fears and take full advantage of new technologies, from online collaboration tools to GPS navigation systems.

Nancy Seymour, the movement's coordinator of the world's regions, is a multilingual conflict resolution and client relations specialist whose experience in these areas ranges from managing a high-volume call center for the California State Automobile Association to resolving executive-level complaints for Dell Inc. in Ireland.

Conversant in Spanish and Russian and studying Mandarin with her university degree in education, she is also a researcher and writer with extensive training in workplace-diversity issues.

If you have been following Humanities Team for a while, our Around the World in Oneness Events that were staged in ten countries around the world during March/April 2007 may still be fresh in your mind.

It is safe to say that these events were a great impetus for the birth of Humanity's Team's Oneness and Spiritual Activism initiatives through which we continue to bring to life the most important message that humanity is beginning to awaken to: We Are All One.

Through these events Humanity's Team managed to communicate and experience her capabilities to arrange powerful and successful events and to collaborate with other like-minded organizations and individuals. Not only were we now being seen as a leading proponent for the idea of Oneness, but most importantly, as embracing this idea; as the embodiment and living proof of the message. This is what sets us apart...We Are the Change we wish to see in the world:

As we ourselves embrace the Five Steps to Peace, from a space where we are continuously willing to open ourselves and to explore new and workable understandings about God/Life/Self and the other, where we announce our willingness for new understandings to be brought forth and courageously examine these, through to the last step where we express our lives as a demonstration of our highest beliefs, HT becomes the catalyst for change. The world changes, One by One...starting with the Self.

This is where Spiritual Activism comes in. Humanity's Team believes that the world is hungry for change and we believe it is time to write a new cultural story, for a new humanity to be born. We are making change possible and we are showing direction.

Humanity's Team is called "Civil Rights Movement for the Soul," ...a movement that is inviting humanity to release beliefs in a righteous, jealous, angry, demanding, exclusive, vindictive, vengeful, and violent God, and inviting people to follow their natural impulse toward the Divine without fear of being socially ostracized, legally punished, or attacked in some fashion for the way in which they are doing it.

When Humanity's Team was created it was clear what we wanted to do:
• We were choosing to change the world.
• We were inviting others to join us in that effort.
• We knew that the time was now.

You are reading this letter because this is also your heart's desire and because you have been asking yourself: What can I do? How can I play a part?

• We are making it possible for you to "connect" with other extraordinary people throughout the world who are now participating in a movement to change the world through the work of Humanity's Team.

Together we are creating and holding a space where the exploration and experience of Oneness is considered as the only practical solution to the problems facing humanity. We are shining the light of Oneness on all spheres of life and bringing about a society that reflects this idea. We are creating genuine community and reminding the world that we are ONE interconnected whole and creating a world of wonderful new possibilities; transforming life into an exquisite celebration of existence.

Thank you for doing what you can do. We are proud to be doing so with you.

To March or Not ~ The 1 Million Man March

Tuesday 10th June was a significant day for me...I marched with 5000 others...for humanity...With Suraya—my "blind" friend, Sophy in the back, Margaux my daughter and my friend Mariaan. My son Barend is in on the last picture.

I regard myself as an "ordinary" girl. Certainly not the hurrah..rah type. I am far too reserved and too much of a hermit to make a noise, let alone march...especially not with a banner!

The stirring started earlier this year when the world was commemorating Martin Luther King's "I have a Dream." Goodness! What a speech!

Tension has been on the rise in my beloved country in most aspects of life. I do not care what anyone-else's perception of our life here is. The only thing that matters is mine. And I can tell you clearly — I do not like what I see. I am fed-up with our leaders who are at best absent — seems like they have all adopted the "quiet diplomacy" trick. And when they do say something their words are empty...meaningless.

What do you do when people continue to get violently killed and abused on a daily basis all around you? When we are no longer safe in our own homes? When your leaders are absent? When they do not listen? What do you do? Which incident will be "the" incident? When is enough enough?

One day it dawned on me in a sad way that maybe the day has come for me that sitting behind my laptop was not going to do it any longer-neither were my clever conversations and especially not looking the other way. I knew that sitting around, hoping and dreaming that our problems will disappear had become a luxury. I knew that the time had come for me to make a stand, to become visible; to step up and out. That I will have to become MORE involved and to pull together with others who feel the same.
While I was contemplating the wild idea to start a march like Martin Luther King's, the Million Man March of Desmond Dube's came to my attention. It made absolute sense to support his courageous effort. His objectives and these words on his website were my own! www.millionmanmarch.co.za/

"With unity we can turn the situation around to the basics that have been the cornerstone of African society, botho /ubuntu.

It means co-existence, empathy and a capacity for doing well for and with others. This mass campaign is meant to address all sorts of crime but the main aim is to translate the dialogue about crime into action, its sources and severity..." ... and...... "all that is necessary for EVIL to prevail is for GOOD people to do NOTHING."

The day before the march I started copping out for all of the "legitimate" reasons one can imagine...I started losing my steam. Came evening all hope had left me.

It was in the dying moments of a telephone conversation with my friend Suraya in the closing hours of the day that we touched on the upcoming march. And as I was telling her why I thought the time had come to take a physical stand a miraculous thing happened — I talked myself right back into my dream! Came the morning I was up early...I literally got my kids out of bed — they obviously thought I was crazy. I called a friend, summoned our housekeeper and grabbed my HT banners. I became the Spiritual Activist I claim myself to be! I was on a mission! I AM uBuntu — how can I not march?

What marching did for me:
• I felt part of my beautiful Rainbow Nation, part of my SA family. I was there with people from all colour and walks of life; people who truly love this country and who came to say in no uncertain terms: "enough is enough — we are going THIS way!" I felt an amazing sense of solidarity and purpose — I was making a stand for what I personally believe: there can be NO social transformation or African Renaissance without Personal/Spiritual transformation. There comes a day when you know what you know what you know. This is the day that there is no turning back, when it becomes possible to announce who you are. My day has come.

• I felt proud of my fellow marchers, my children, my friends (yes - Suraya also turned up!) and my Sophy. They had no idea what I was leading them into. How amazing to watch them become free with me...joining in with song and cries for a better world.

• I feel self-empowered. I believe the world is as it is because we allow it to be so. Not enough of us have stood up to show another direction.

• Good intention can never be pointless - we were part of something worthwhile and we are making appositive difference.

• I was reminded that if I am not part of the solution, I am part of the problem, and that all it takes for evil to flourish is for good people to do nothing. I was reminded that when enough people get together, anything is possible.

I am marching on until the job is done. You can count on me.

Humanity's Team Unconditional Love Tour

Humanity's Team Unconditional Love Tour (ULT) has been touring the United States for a over month now and that means they have passed the half-way mark. Did you know that this years ULT is twice as long as the 2007 European ULT? Next stop on the ULT is Clinton, Washington. They are scheduled to arrive on July 2^nd and Lynn Launer, worldwide teams & operations coordinator, is the host.

"People young and old are eager to make change in the world but sometimes get discouraged" says Humanity's Team worldwide coordinating director Steve Farrell. "Love is the only force in the universe that can heal a world that is wounded. Humanity's Team is a spiritual movement with 15,000 people in 94 countries, focused on "Awakening the World to Oneness" through spiritual education programs and retreats."

People that participate in the ULT activities are reminded of what unconditional love and our oneness feels like. For observers, the ULT creates the space and possibility to experience this love and our oneness again. It plants a seed. You never know how your spiritual activism in the community is going to inspire another.
