God's Presence & God's Presents

I've had many wake up calls in my life, some which felt like soft whispers asking me "is this all there is?" and others that felt like sharp blows to my head. Looking back I can see that God/Spirit/Universe had knocked softly on my door for a long time. Each time, I was invited to open the door to inner tranquility. When I failed to open the door, I summoned God to break the door down.

I've sometimes shared of my sister and the dream that I should not miss her wedding shortly before her death. Then, about 20 years later, I was diagnosed with a massive tumor on the right side of my face and after it was removed I lost all facial expression including the ability to blink my eye. Following this, my wife Stephanie and I were both urged to sell our home in California and move to Boulder, CO with our two small children. Each time, I listened carefully to the message God/Universe was bringing me. On some level, I'd reached out to God to share my soul's desire and then God responded by bringing a dream or inspiration into my life that altered the course of my life...going to my sister's wedding so I could share precious moments with her before she died, helping me to heal my face but to first experience firsthand what it was like to live with a major disability, and then gathering the strength and courage to move my family 1,000 miles away from friends and grandparents so I could live in a community supporting me, my family and my work.

In each case I could feel God's "Presence" and God's "Presents".

I feel God's Presence when I quiet the outer world around me and connect with my inner world, my sanctuary, where I feel God's deep love for me and for all people. This is always very calming. It is almost as though I can feel someone holding me in a very gentle and loving way. It feels very cleansing and nurturing. When I center myself here, there is never any judgment or anything detracting from the peace and joy that I feel.

I believe our invitation is to live in this sanctuary, a long, long way from worldly noises such as the media, internet and telephone. Of course, I don't mean living off on a mountain as a hermit though this can work for some. I mean consciously making the decision to prioritize my inner world connection and basing my living from here rather than prioritizing outer world noise and distraction.

When I remain connected and present to God's perfect health and wellbeing I call this in. I know this is Who I Really Am. Good things come to me. I receive God's Presents. All parts of my life are nurtured, my Self, my relationship with: my wife, my son, my daughter, my family, my community and my professional life. I receive God's inspirations, healing, guidance and support. I am filled up with God's love, joy and peace and I am replenished. The pressures, stresses and strains from daily living fall away. I see that I am Unity, Oneness, abundance and blessing. I am acceptance and gratitude. I am innocence and I am perfect health. I also see what I am not....the outer world in which I live, undisciplined living, living without faith, and most importantly, I see I am no longer a sleep walker because I know who I am. I live in gratitude for God, who I am, and the bright future that is ahead for me and our planet.

Needless to say, in God's world, there is no "borrowing to build". It had been my custom earlier in my life to borrow time from my family to think about and plan professional activities in the evening and on weekends. I now realize God's Presents only come to me when I am present. Leaving the present to plan for the future violates this rule. I lose. I'm getting better and better and remaining in the present with my family so I may enjoy the gift that each moment brings me.

I'm going to share more about God's Presents in my professional life because things happened to me that are truly amazing. Years ago, when I was Chief Executive Officer of a company I had founded, I threw out many of my business practices and day planner. When I did this, I felt sure I'd crash my company. It felt dangerous to throw out common business tools but I felt I was not being true to myself using these tools. I felt I must live in integrity but I felt my company might pay the price. Nothing could have been further from the truth. My business thrived. Looking back, I can see why. I became a better listener, more patient, more compassionate and better connected to the person I was speaking with. Needless to say, my customers and employees loved this. My business that was already thriving hit a new inflection point and grew at a whole new level.

The best Present involves yourself. I'm saving the best Present for last. It is the Present involving my Self. I realized the Loving, Sacred and Divine Presence that was here FOR me was also IN me, in you, and in everything. What scientists have shared is true, there is a great Singularity. What spiritualists and the founders of some of the world's religious traditions have shared is true; our greatest blessing is our Spiritual birth certificate. We are born in the image and likeness of God. We are part of God. We are all interconnected and interdependent. We Are All One.

This brings us full circle to living in God's Presence and God's Presents. I'm convinced that breaking free from noisy outer world living and living in our inner world--connected to God--is the gift that transforms our individual and collective lives. We may live in Divine Love, Peace and Harmony and so may our world when we do this together and in unison. It is truly a gift from God!

Global Free Hugs

Humanity's Team teammates around the world are invited to participate in the Global Free Hugs event on October 19th.

Humanity's Team is excited to announce our recent collaboration with the Positive Focus organization that initiated the Global Free Hug event. This is a momentous occasion for Humanity's Team because our involvement marks the first partnership with a like-minded organization for a global spiritual activism event.

Humanity's Team teammate's participation in the Global Free Hugs event provides two opportunities.

1. Global Spiritual Activism event

We have found each other, we have gathered, we have organized, and now it is time to move as One. The Global Free Hugs event allows Humanity's Team teammates and others the opportunity to practice moving as One.

Furthermore, participation in this simple spiritual activism event gives us the opportunity to practice aspects of the New Spirituality in the global community. In essence, we are uniting to illustrate our oneness by embracing "others" (our Self) with a hug. Think about it, our first global movement as One, is a nurturing hug to our Self. (An embracing hug that expresses unconditional Love and our oneness with each other)

2. Another way to obtain signatures for the Oneness Day Petition

Positive Focus is already promoting the Oneness Day Petition on their website and newsletters, and all participants of this event will be given the opportunity to sign the Oneness Day Petition.

We are recommending two methods of signing the Oneness Day Petition at the Global Free Hugs event. Please ask all participants to sign the Oneness Day Petition. Either of these methods will accomplish this task:

• Sign the Oneness Day Petition Document

We will have a downloadable version of the Oneness Day Petition available for you on the Humanity's Team website the week of the event. You will need to print it off and take it to the event with you. Some people still do not like using computers and will prefer this method.

• Sign the Oneness Day Petition Online

If possible, have a teammate of the group bring a wireless laptop computer to the Global Free Hugs location. (Make sure you are able to make an internet connection at the chosen location.) Then ask all participants if they are willing to sign the Oneness Day Petition online.

1. Stand your cursor on BOOKMARK in the right-hand corner of the petition page to find many easy virtual ways (including Facebook, MySpace, etc.) to spread the word. This function is also being expanded right now to be available for multi-language and other purposes.

2. Visit the Oneness Declaration again and be re-inspired. Read the Petition (Declaring an Oneness Day).

- You may download it and forward it.

- Be creative and make a poster. You may even turn this into an art competition!

- Post it on your e-profiles and distribute it.

- Make it known in all sorts of ways through Humanity's Team Global Village. This neighborhood is all about practicing Oneness. This is where the real action is........ shifting the matrix.

3. Link the petition to your blessing emails.

4. Include the Petition and the Declaration in your local newsletters.

5. Continue expanding your circle of influence by adding more and more names to your distribution list.

We Are All One Looking at the birth and the journey of the Oneness Day Petition it is evident that it is a great idea! It is a natural impulse that cannot be ignored. It is a celebration and a confirmation of an idea that has been yearning to be made alive.

Supporting this idea is an opportunity to step into this pivotal space, for all of us to work together and to spread this powerful idea which is very big indeed: We Are All One.

Timothy Freke for one suggests that this simple idea has enormous implications:

We now know that the universe is one interconnected whole. Science has shown us that quantum particles in one part of our cosmos commune with other particles vast distances away, defying our common sense ideas of things being separated by space and time. On our own blue planet we know that pollution in Siberia can cause deserts in Africa. We know that bigoted religion in the Middle East can bring tragedy to New York, and political decisions in Washington bring death and destruction to countries on the other side of the globe.

Scientists have concluded that the universe is an expanding, evolving totality which has arisen in one spectacular burst of creativity from what cosmologists call the ‘singularity'. The whole human race has evolved from a small handful of common ancestors, who evolved from more primitive forms of life, that evolved from inanimate matter, that evolved from the singularity. We are the singularity becoming conscious of itself. We are the eyes of the universe appreciating our own mysterious splendour.

This astonishing idea is nothing new. It is found in the most ancient of literature, such as the indu VedasIndian Vedas. Yet it complements perfectly the findings of modern physics.

So even though the idea is echoed by you and many respected global leaders and organizations, it is Humanity's Team's main focus to combine these voices and to make our voice a BIG ONE.

SPIRITUAL ACTIVISM IN EDUCATION . . . Bless our educators and create a Whole New Learning Environment!

One of the key focuses of Humanity's Team is Education.

If you are out there; talking about Humanity's Team, the idea of Oneness and its powerful potential, it is very likely that you will be asked: "Humanity's Team . . . what is it all about? What do you do?"

As supporters of Humanity's Team and her ideas, and as Spiritual Activists, we are saying to the world: "We are renewing and restoring our connection with God/Life and One-another".

The persistent person will continue to ask: "So how do you do that?"

We do so though education; starting with self-education that continues to be central to New Spirituality and Humanity's Team mission. This is so because education helps us to continue opening our minds to the possibility that there is more to understand about God and Life; especially about our Self.

There are many ways paths to self-education. They can range from study, prayer or meditation to exercise, expressing your creativity or being in nature. Whatever path/s you choose - and you may choose many - what is important, from our view, is that you pay attention to your inner life and explore larger realities. Apart from nurturing our self education, as Spiritual Activist it is important for us to ensure the emergence of an educational system that supports our core principles:

It is our dream to transform our species from a society of beings that often appears to be destructive and violent, into an advanced civilization of beings that is caring, sharing and loving; through the development of a Whole New Learning Environment in which children will know what it means to forgive, what it really means to be successful, unique, abundant and happy, and most importantly that that We Are One. We want to shift our collective human consciousness to a higher state of being through our children and a new generation of award winning teachers.

"The way to control a population is to control a population's mind. And the best way to do that is to begin with the young; send them all to the same school, teach them the same things, allow them to know little else and tell them that to even desire to expand their knowledge and to understand more is unacceptable" Tomorrow's God - pg 302 Neale Donald Walsch.

We believe that we have made it possible and easy for you to participate in this calling. Sending a blessing email to our educators is a powerful and loving way of reminding them of who they are. It is a powerful gift we give to ourselves when we appreciate them.

Humanity's Team recently held a reception hosted by a well known HT supporter near this "City by the Bay", in part of Silicon Valley, heart of the high tech industry in the United States. Attended by over 40 invited guests, the event's special guest was Neale Donald Walsch, New York Times best-selling author and founder of Humanity's Team.

Prior to introducing Neale, Humanity's Team's Coordinating Director, Steve Farrell, spoke of his own story, a poignant account of Awakening to Oneness that reprioritized his entire life and eventually led to reading his first Conversation with God book. Steve stressed that anyone can have such an experience . . . leading to a personal decision to see things . . . and everyone else . . . differently.

Neale shared the story of founding the global grassroots spiritual movement five years earlier and fielded questions from the group. He also asked the group to join him by taking 30 seconds to sign Humanity's Team's Global Oneness Day Petition. With 50,000 signatures Humanity's Team will travel to the United Nations and ask them to designate an Oneness Day each year to celebrate, discuss and experience our commonality, while still acknowledging and respecting our beautiful cultural diversities.
