It Is Our Time

I voted for Barack Obama with millions of others in the United States and in the months following his election we held out hope that his administration, together with progressive administrations around the world, might create the change that we urgently see as necessary.  A year and a half has passed and we now see that Obama and other progressive leaders cannot get the job done without our assistance.  We can see this in Copenhagen at the Climate Change Conference, in Washington DC and in other nation’s capitals.  Duality and division have caused the global political process to go agonizingly slow and often to come skidding to a stop.  If we are to create a fulfilling, compassionate and sustainable world – and we will do this in a generation –it must be led by the grassroots.  Change must be driven from the bottom up, by common people like you and me, not from the top down.  Of course, it is not really either or.  We must see bold and courageous action from the bottom up and top down but it must be led by the grassroots.  It is our time and we must rise to answer the call if we are to step into responsibility and fulfill our destiny as citizens of the Earth.

How does this groundswell, this grassroots activity, begin?  I believe it starts by seeing the root problem in the world today is spiritual in nature.  We can heal terrorism, violence, war, poverty, pandemics, climate change and other problems in the world when we see connection with our larger Self -- our connection with God, the Universe, Divinity, all of humanity and all of life, and that extends beyond our bodies to the planet around us and indeed to the outer edges of the cosmos.  Ancient wisdom and many contemporary quantum physicists share we are all connected, We Are All One, we are all interdependent.  This is important because when we see our connection, it becomes a priority to take compassionate action, reaching out to those in need, healing violence and the environment and more.  How can we not do this when our identification becomes to the world around us that calls out to us?  Conversely, when we don’t see our connection, we may be concerned about the world around us, but as we see in today’s world, it is not an elevated priority and compassionate action is nowhere near what is necessary.

When we step into higher regions of consciousness, we see our Oneness with all things and the Sacred and Divine in each person.  We know we are spiritual beings and we place a priority on being in spiritual unity with God and all of life.  We are now prepared to be effective global citizens.  We very naturally reach out to the world around us to be of service.  It is human nature to care for our Self and now we see our true Self in humanity and the world around us.

Obama and other progressive global leaders have no chance of creating the New Earth we dream of without our assistance.  We must step up and we must step out.  We must do this now.  If not you, who?  If not now, when?  Let us be the change we wish to see in the world and let’s co-create a New Earth now.  This is our destiny.  Can you feel it?  This is why the 50,000 people, now part of Humanity’s Team globally, have come together.  This is our sole (soul) purpose.  We shall awaken the world to Oneness, we shall create a fulfilling, compassionate and sustainable world and we shall do this in a generation so our children inherit a New Earth.
