The First Global Oneness Day ~

Written on October 28, 2010
Dear Friends,
In the last 48 hours I’ve cried more than I have in a long, long time, more times than I can remember back to my youth. Even as I am writing this note to you now I have tears in my eyes. When we decided on July 15th that we’d celebrate our first Global Oneness Day October 24th, we talked about a “soft launch”. In talking around, we agreed there was not much time so we’d better not plan anything too elaborate. As you know, the “soft launch” plan went out the window some number of weeks or months ago. What we co-created on Sunday, 10/24 was beyond my wildest dreams for the first year.
Stories, pictures and videos are still coming in so we still don’t have a complete picture of everything that happened but our partial picture looks like this: Spain created a multi-day program and flew Gerry in to assist and to speak, Anna-Mari created a fabulous program in South Africa and media programs that reached out to the whole country and beyond, Gabriel and Argentina created a huge celebration! Shalini created programs around England, Claudia Christine created programs in Germany and a meditation for the whole world, Helen created programs across Canada, Art created a program Global Oneness Day eve and on Sunday, 10/24, Philippe brought people together under the Eiffel Tower in France, Victor created a celebration with entertainment and speeches in Venezuela, Catalina created a program in Romania, Maria created exercises and programs in Portugal, Dimitra created celebration in Greece, Tiago created programs in Brazil, Ernesto created celebration in Italy, Christina created programs in Columbia, Mukta created celebration in Australia, Hitoshi created special programs for Japan, New Zealand sent us pictures of celebration, Mexico was in touch with us to connect a group together and then sent us head spinning pictures, the United States celebrated in churches, community centers, on the radio and more, and China sent us pictures of wonderful celebrations. This was just the start….stories are still coming in but please don’t miss the slide show that is already up on the www.global-oneness-day.org site [thank you Chip for lovingly creating this]. The pictures tell the story better than I have here….
Many on the Worldwide Support Team helped to get Global Oneness Day going through planning, focus, and media relations. Nannette Kennedy tirelessly promoted the day through social networking, Angie Lile created promotional videos that created awareness around the world, Gerry created press and media promotions and then wrote a UPI story that was picked up widely, Chip and Stefano created a Global Oneness Day site and added features all the way up to the very last day Sunday, 10/24, Melissa Porri helped the Association for Global New Thought write a script for Global Oneness Day services that were celebrated around the world, Ruth asked her translations team to do headstands to quickly translate key messages including the material from Yoko Ono, Duysal went on radio to promote Global Oneness Day, Rachael promoted Global Oneness Day through Spirituality in Action, Dee Meyer (our new worldwide Volunteer Coordinator) as her own home stood in the path of wildfires, promoted Global Oneness Day while at the same time she volunteered to help many, many families who had lost their homes due to the fires. I am just touching the tip of the ice berg here…members of the Worldwide Support Team were juggling many things at once to plan and make possible what we experienced together.
Key partners brought programs and forms of assistance to us that were over the top. The Association for Global New Thought, and their President, Michael Beckwith, and Executive Director, Barbara Fields were out of this world to work with. Michael Beckwith’s video and his Tweets were picked up widely. James Twyman and Anakha Coman created a 40-day program for embodying Oneness with conference calls from Saturday, 9/11 to Saturday, 10/23 that were very impactful and widely attended. Yoko Ono caught the world’s attention with her video that was picked up by many news organizations and Michael Moore’s site [yes - the Michael Moore who creates documentaries that are watched globally]. Desmond Tutu’s videos brought credibility to our work that is almost incomparable. Our founder, Neale Donald Walsch, created two very powerful videos for us and helped us to promote Global Oneness Day through conference calls and his Neale Donald Walsch site and FB site. Ambassador Chowdhury with the United Nations, Tim Freke, Barbara Marx Hubbard, Lance Secretan, Cynthia James, Jordan Paul, Ed & Deb Shapiro, Gary Bailey, Spirit Media Network/Connections Radio, and Co-Creator Radio all helped us promote Global Oneness Day through various programs, videos and speaking engagements. The list goes on…. Many, many wanted to contribute to Global Oneness Day and many did by giving generously of their time and resources.
As we know, the grassroots was heavily involved in Global Oneness Day. Messages continue to come in from people around the world. If you go to our worldwide Facebook site and press “just others” you can read their messages: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=728416757#!/pages/Humanitys-Team/64803335649. Many people are sharing inspiring stories.
Lastly, as we’ve stated before, many paved the way for Global Oneness Day before Humanity’s Team came along: Christ Jesus, Buddha, Krishna, Sacred Texts, Gandhi, Martin Luther King Jr., Einstein, scientists, philosophers and other spiritual figures all shared the message that We Are All One and/or that we are God’s offspring, God’s presence. We stand on their shoulders.
I do not want to write a book and more importantly, you don’t want to read one so I will stop here except that I want to acknowledge one more Presence – God. I want to thank God for guiding and supporting us in this co-creation. In Conversations with God, God shares “If you will help me in the days immediately ahead, I will help you”. I’ve felt this assistance many times and these past weeks and months leading up to Global Oneness Day I’ve seen many miracles so I want to take this occasion to say “thank you God”.
Sunday, October 24th, 2010 was an ONEderful, ONEderful co-creation! If I did not give you full credit or acknowledgement for all the things you did, please forgive me. I appreciate all of the things each of you did to bring Global Oneness Day to the attention of the world. I think we gave the world something to think about in the presence and connection we co-created. Perhaps the day is not too far off where we live as One each day. Thank you for your being. Thank you for your doing. Thank you for your “boing”. Thank you to each of you! Thank you to all of you!
All my love,
Steve
