More Languages - More Freedom
A key declaration adopted by Humanity's Team's Global Council at its most recent meeting (Buenos Aires, Argentina; May 2008), concerned Cultural Diversity:
"I commit to increasing my consciousness of cultural diversity, within my own country as well as around the world, so that my Humanity's Team work and that of my teammates reflect this consciousness. This consciousness includes respect for cultural differences such as language, dress and traditions, the ways societies organize themselves, their values and religions, and the ways they interact with the environment."
A key resulting action taken was the addition of a multi-language capability to the HTWW website. The programming foundation for that capability has now been put into place that will allow us to provide website viewers a choice of languages for most of the pages on the site.
HT's Translations Team, lead by Ruth Luna, has started the process of doing the page by page translation from English into other languages, including Spanish, French, German, Czech and Russian. You can already find many of the Spiritual Activism Initiative pages in both English and Spanish, including the Oneness Day Petition to the United Nations. (Be sure to sign the Petition if you haven’t already!!)
Ruth’s Translations Team of multi-lingual volunteers, already busy with monthly translations of HTWW newsletters, will soon begin the impressive task of translating the website. Please give them your encouragement, support and appreciation for what they’re doing over the upcoming weeks and months. It’s a very large but important job, as we accelerate the move away from our almost complete reliance on English-only communications at the worldwide level.
THANKS for your patience while we carefully harness the new technology that allows us to communicate with our Teammates worldwide more fairly and effectively. We see this as just another evolutionary step toward improving our ability to share humanity-changing universal truths . . . despite perceived minor differences between us.
If you would like to help us increase the number of languages on our website, please donate to the Humanity's Team Action Fund.
