Discover the Power Within

I’ve just finished reading a stunning book that I highly recommend, “Discover the Power Within You, A guide to the Unexplored Depths Within” by Eric Butterworth.  Do you believe there are secrets to the universe revealing our true identity and potential?  If you take the time to read this book, I believe you will resoundingly say “yes”!  It describes how we, each of us, can live in the fullness of Who We Really Are by discovering the presence and power that lies within.  The book points out that the journey “is not a conquest but a bequest”.  In other words, we are born with gifts and potential that are hidden treasure.  There is an entitlement available to each of us that is as big as Hercules discovery he was the son of Zeus but the gifts lay dormant until we bring awareness and focus to them.  This is all that is needed, our attention and focus.  The book is very powerful so I’m going to devote my coming posts to a review of this insightful, forceful book.  It will change your life.  This is not something I share lightly.  It is true.  Maya Angelou, Oprah Winfrey, and Norman Vincent Peale endorse the book.  I can see why!  I will review chapter one in this post.

It starts out with a startling statement, that in our search for the “holy grail” we have looked everywhere except for within our Self and when a prophet has come to tell us of the world within we’ve worshiped him and built monuments to him but we’ve largely abandoned the practice of going within.  We’ve kept the husk but we’ve thrown out the nutritious food.  We have many monuments to powerful religious figures but the value that they brought has largely been discarded.

Before we get into the individuation of the whole, you and me, the book acknowledges what quantum science tells us: everything is connected, permeates all space and matter, and is part of one intelligence that has unlimited potential.  In other words, We Are All One.

Like Deepak Chopra’s book, “The Third Jesus” this book focuses on the teachings of Jesus Christ but it is more spiritual than religious.  A person of any faith tradition and even an agnostic or atheist can identify with the material.  Rather than glorifying the person, it glorifies the powerful processes Jesus brought to life.  It walks us through what happens when we: go within, connect, come into communion with God/Universe, put God/Universe first, and then put to work the miracle producing power that are part of a daily practice.  This is not something for the elite.  It is something you can do, I can do, we all will do, if not in this lifetime, then in a future lifetime.  This book is about growing into Who We Really Are – not some of us – for all of us.

More in my post next week!

All my love,

Steve Farrell
