Happy Valentine’s Day

I will never forget the day in the mid-1990’s when I made every person my valentine. I lived in Sausalito then, just across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco. I finished reading Conversations with God book 1 and quite literally, everything changed. Prior to that time, I had seen my life one way – as a mortal human being who would do what he was going to do in a life time -- and then pass away.
When I awoke, I saw every person as a well intentioned Soul that had embodied to experience something unique in our relational world. Quite literally, I could see them, at the start of their life, “packing their bags” to come down to Earth with the best of intentions. Living here on Earth, we are each doing the best we can. We share the same DNA, the same essence, even the same heartbeat and mental energy [we must deeply meditate to feel these things but we can feel each other and our connection if we but take the time]. I am the little finger and they are the middle finger on a hand that is part of a larger Whole. How could I not love them!
The beautiful Earth, with all its treasure and majesty, was put here for you and me to enjoy in this marvelous life time. I must confess that I still have trouble with mosquitoes in the house and other insects that my four and six year old object to but they are quick to say with me “let’s catch them and put them outside” so even these little beings have a place in the Whole.
My own life is DRAMATICALLY different now. Then, I was the CEO of a company I had founded, concerned about growing my staff, revenue, and profits. I realized, when I became awake, that my life is about investing in REAL intrinsic value: life on earth, making it better for me and future generations to come. It is not about how many companies I can start, how much revenue I can create or how many employees I can hire [a spiritual path and running a business do not need to be mutually exclusive but, in my case, the calling was to leave the business world to pursue my true passion].
You, each of you, are my valentine, like it or not. Yes, I’m happily married and I have two children but I see I am part of a larger Whole and I love all the parts of this Whole, this includes each of you and all life on Earth.
Click on the hearts. This video captures it pretty well:
All my love,
Steve

What you say here, Steve, makes me think if we all saw everyone as "our" Valentine, everyone would be included and no one would feel left out of this celebration. Very nice and Happy Valentine's Day to Everyone!
